Zona B. McCracken Memorial Scholarship

The Zona B. McCracken Memorial Scholarship fund was created by Miss McCracken’s nephew, John M. Arnold, to honor the 45 years that Miss McCracken taught first grade in the Nowata Public School System. The scholarship is intended to help the children of the Nowata community, and recipients will be chosen based on their scholastic achievement, leadership and character, school activities, and community service. In view of the Indian heritage of the McCracken family, Mr. Arnold’s wish was to also consider American Indian blood as a favorable factor in conjunction with the other selection criteria.
